Amalfi Paper
This stationery is handmade by Cartiera Amatruda in the ancient duchy of Amalfi, Italy, one of the oldest and most renowned papermaking centers in Europe. Cartiera Amatruda has produced fine stationery since 1380. Traditionally the papers have been watermarked with cities’ coats-of-arms, as well as religious and heraldic symbols.
Today’s Amalfi paper comes directly from that rich history. It is watermarked with the Cartiera Amatruda coat-of-arms, and each deckle-edged sheet is crafted with the utmost care, using many of the traditional methods first developed in the Middle Ages. The paper is made from the finest cotton rag and sized for the best possible writing quality.
